FAENA Art courses

Launching this October, students from ages 12 to 18 will have to the opportunity to participate in a range of classes led by artists of Faena Art’s Artist in Residence program: Suzi Analogue, Paperwater and Alexandre Arrechea.

Students will be invited to select the artist of their choice, courses will take place live on zoom. Each week a new lesson will be streamed live from the Faena Forum, where the Artist in Residence program is taking place. Students will be invited to ask questions, watch, and learn as they develop a project or piece in real time. Following the course, the artwork created by the students will ultimately be displayed within Faena District.

  • Seeing Sounds led by Suzi Analogue is a 8-week program led by recording artist, musician, and songwriter Suzi Analogue. Students will engage with concepts of producing music from a visual perspective, learning key dynamics of elements that go into making music projects from all scenarios including music for TV, film and more. At the end of the course students are invited to produce short music films of our world as we experience it today and do a screening for a final project.   • Reinventing the identity of a city led by Alexandre Arrechea is a 6-week program led by Miami-based artist Alexandre Arrechea. This class will focus on social and environmental awareness. Students will think about their immediate surroundings and how they can create positive social changes around the world. Different mediums will be explored giving students meaning to architecture and urbanism. During the class techniques and materials like photo collage, color pencil, cardboards, clay and found objects will be used to create unique works of art. ENROLL NOW.

  • Your own musical creation led by Paperwater is a 6-week program led by avant-garde production duo Paperwater. Students will be given the opportunity to share their favorite musicians and music genres to learn how to remix their favorite tracks. Learning how to collaborate with different artists and creating sounds from scratch will be an important part of the course as well, allowing you to produce your own type of music and taking it from the studio to the stage! The virtual art courses are in partnership with Embark Beyond, the bespoke luxury travel agency, a new venture that offers the most sought-after amenities through curated camp programs for families at home.

The program will last from six to eight weeks and packages can be purchased per family for up to three students. Proceeds will be used to further the mission of Faena Art to support local artists.
